I have an client who has been filed belated IT Return for AY 2019-20. He has refund of amount more than 3 lakhs is he is elegible to be claimed now or not.

Nothing required... only requirement is to file ITR... on processing, refund will be issued

A refund is claimed when excess tax paid on your income during the year as per Section 244A of the Income-tax Act, 1961. However, in case of belated returns, you may lose the interest that would be due on the refund amount. In any case it is claimable.
