as a result cash balance is decreased and passbook balance will be more.if u start ur problem with balance as passbook since it shows more u need to subtract 5900.if u start with cash balance since it shows less balance add 5900 to it.

be precise whether the question deals about overdraft or normal balance.

in simple way I can say that the amount 5900 will be debited. in brs
If you want to make your cash book equal to pass book then Add back the cheque issue in BRS. OR, if you want to make pass book equal to your cash book then subtract the cheque issue in BRS.
