assessment year applicable for nov. 2008 exam

Hello everybody,

My attempt for ca final is nov. 2008 and presently I am doing income tax from garish ahjua for the assessment year 2008-09. can some one tell me is this right assessment year for final nov. 2008 exams.

I am doing self study so tell me is garish ahuja is sufficient study material for income tax of final and is there any other book or nots from whom I can take benefit.
