Its a very good idea to improve the subject by sharing. Its useful for many students.

Ms-Word,Excel,PPT are the basics for one and all.  If the CA students have these basics, then lot of their work  gets simple and fast. Simply saying, it  makes things easier.                              

I am a faculty and planning to start MS-Office classes for CA students at Vidyanagar, Hyderabad using a  projector.

Anyone can register for this. ONLY for CA students.

How to copy and paste the data with out hidden cells data.

 Hi Nagaraju 

 u have to use goto command 

Select the area from where u want the data to be copied from

( If u do not select the data in advance , excel will select all the visible cells in the sheet and this will make ur file very heavy when u will paste it ) 

On the edit menu click goto (Ctrl + G)

then click specials

then select visible cells 

Excel will select all the visible cells only within the selection u have selected above (No hidden Cells will be selected )

Just copy (Ctrl + C) it and paste it (Ctrl + V) where ever u Want .

Excel is a vast software , It will be better that start with the areas in which u are working and are of daily use for u .

Like i am not very good in those scientific & Maths & Static formullas, since i dont use them at all.

U have to specify the area in which u r working and also some examples of excel data u work , then only it will be fruitful for u to get the formullas .

I work on no. of sheets simultaneously. Some times when i try to do any editing/ formatting, then message box appearing with info of  ”Too many different cell formats"

Please advise me.

and one more thing,  is there any other better/alternative formula for "vlookup"  which identifies the data even if some or part of the text matches...

I want to know that if I mentioned date (25-05-2008) in other cell it will shows as days of the month in 2008 (31) like (15/02/2008)= (29) or (15/02/2007)= (28)

U can change the date format;

Step 1: right click the Mouse Button -  Select Format Cell

Step 2: Select Date

Step 3 : then Select Custom - unter Type Box write the format like that   DD-MM-YYYY

even u write the date 15/02/08 it will display 15-02-2008.
