Artilcles in Big Four

Hi Ankit, i work in a big 4 too-Deloitte.I agree the work pressure is enormous. There was one audit where I was awake for a full day..and if your boss is a lousy person then.. its hell!!! at times even i feel terrible!!!! the big 4 have big brand names which would look brilliant in your resume' . working in these places is a huge opportunity which many dont get... so be calm and dont lose hope!!!! try to learn new things in the audits as thats what articles is all about. and above all be happy... remember we have an exam to clear!!!!

hi Ankit, i am a ca final student and have completed by articleship since last 2 years. i agree with u that in big firms we don't get to learn lot many things. But this may be the case in 1st year and half or say 2 years max., when u will become senior article in ur firm then u will definitely get some quality work to do and learn. In each and every firm whether big or small, pressure of work is almost everywhere. After 3.5 years of ur articleship, u will realize that the journey was not so hard. Articleship in big and reputed firms definitely count in ur CV when applying for job after u become CA. Taking transfer is not the solution, because transfer will make ur record of articleship bad or say not so good. So be patient and think twice before u come on some conclusion because if the next firm is also like this or even worse than the present then it will be more problematic. When I started my articleship, i also thought abt. transfer for the same reason. But i continued there and completed my articleship and really it was not so bad. So cool down and do ur work with interest and patience. U must be thinking that what a boring lecture i am giving here, but seriously think about it, think of future because our main job will start after we qualify ca final. ok then have a nice day, regards gargi.

Hi Buddy, I'm a CA, completed my articleship from Deloitte. As u told, my situation was also look like u. My senior used to put lot off pressure on me, no leave ofr exams, average working hours of 12 hours a day. Lot of expectation from Partner and hell lot of things. But the points which i learnt in Deloitte- 1. How to work in pressure, which was very usefull for CA final exam and i cleared in first attemp itself. 2. The Etiquetts which you learn make different from other in Corporate, which you can understand when u'll be giving interviews. 3. The "power of managing work" can be learnt with BIG 4 very easily. Rest decision is urs. try to be little smart and surely u'll be able to manage with all these hestles. All the best.

Keep on working as you will come out like a GOLD from the GOLDMINE.

GUYS......... GO SLOW!!! Articleship is a process of learning things step by step... Step by Step learning Process is there in every firm.. be it Small sized.. MID Sized or even a Big 4!! What matters is how you learn things... how you learn to find oppurtunities Being in a BIG 4 is a big dream for every1.. but not very essentially required to be realised! Your Success as CA shall not hindered from where have you done your articleship.. Successful as a CA absolutely depends on what small or big thing you have done in your articleship.!

Hi, This is Anmol . I am a Pcc student and I am quiet impressed with your replies to Ankit.
The pressure is common happening at workplaces and it minds more when you have your CA exams in next 5-6 months .
As I have qualified CpT after my +2 and joined a leading firm in my city , I often feel burdened as my second year exams are approaching in this april.Also I have to cover my Pcc syll. so that I should not face problem in NoV. hi frnds, i hav cleared my group-i and given my 2nd group this nov 07, and waiting for results, and this will be my 4th attempt. is it possible for me to join big4, As wht i heard was, they only recruit rank students. if not, i should i approach big4's.
