Articleship transfer from india to usa

I am student of Ca Final W.e.f 30 April 2013,with my articleship registered in India.I got married and now plan to move to USA with my husband who works in Sacramento,CA.Now, I want to get a transfer in California,USA Firm.Please, explain the proccedure of getting transfer and any complications in the process.

Hello Manisha,

See you are registered with ICAI that is recognised in India.

So you are the member of India .

Now you are moving to outside india i.e USA

So in USA they didnt recognised the ICAI of india.

you have to Registered freshly with Institutue of USA i.e CA institute of USA.

& you have to surrendered your REG no to ICAI.

Now you have choice i.e

Dont surrender your Reg No & continue with ICAI.

Take fresh reg from USA CA Institute.

But in that you have to appear the CA exam in india also as well as in USA Also.

So based on my Opnioin it is not possible to trf becoz both are different Body

i.e ICAI is regonised all over the india.

& USA CA institute in regonised all over the USA.

Hi Bhavik,

Can you explain how i can continue my articleship from INDIA and freshly start my Articleship from USA at the same time?

Do i need to give exams again in USA which i have already cleared in INDIA?

Dear Manisha,

Although as per the regulations, you can take transfer, but first of all, you need to find a practicing CA in California, which is very very difficult according to me as per the ICAI notification, you have to to get the consent of the Institute before getting Form 109 signed by the Principal.
