Yes, it is complusory to appear in the exam. There is no trial run for this test per se.

My articleship 1st year has been completed on 1st Quarter of 2018 i.e on 27th Feb. Should I be eligible for articleship test level 1 or 2? also if i am eligible for the test, then in which quarter i would be liable to give this test? and where would i get the registration form?
