Articleship period - leave ?

Final 1134 views 3 replies

I have registered for articleship in Dec 2006. I have passed PCC in June 2009. My articleship period will be complete in June 2010. We get leave of 6 months i.e. 1/7 period of articleship( So articleship period is 3 years). But if i will complet 3 years training in Feb 2010 and my 3 months leave will be remaining. Can i appear for CA final in May 2010?

Please reply soon. Thanks in advance.

Hi Tanushree! Your calculations are not correct as per ICAI Rule.Refer relevant portion of ICAI FAQ which clearly says that u can appear in CA Final exam only after completion of ur Articleship period.i.e.,after June 2010 in Nov 2010 only.

Relevant portion of ICAI FAQ

Q. When a student of Professional Competence Course (PCC) who switch over from         Professional Education (Course – II) (PE-II) can appear in the Final Examination?

A.  The period of articled training for a student of Professional Competence Course (PCC)
is three and a half years whether he/she has joined PCC after passing Common
Proficiency Test (CPT) OR has switched over from PE-II to PCC. Such a student can
appear in the Final Examination only after completion of full period of his/her articled
training i.e. 3 ½ years and not before.

How much leave is allowed in our total articleship period??

Is there any leave period specified for preparation of CA final exams?
