i cleared my ipcc grp 1 exams in may 2010 n have appeared for grp 2 in nov 2011 but i am not yet registerd for articleship ...

i was tryin to get in to grant thornton n aftr 2 mths of waiting ive been selected but dey r tellin me to get registerd in some firm n to wrk on contract basis for three mths in grant thornton ...should i do dat way cuz deyll nt b givin me ne certificate for my work dere n also dey r tellin if i got selected to work dere deyll extend my contract bit still ill not b registered wd grant thornton ....

n also whether shud i go for bigger firms or mediocre???

Grant Thortton is good firm, you can register for articlship in another firm means you are registering in there ASSOCIATES, it will not have any problems, but kindly check it properly rules and regulations before accepting.

dey r jus askin me 2 get register in some random firm ...i mean dey r tellin me dat get urself registered n send us de details n deyll make a contract wd ma registered firm n den ill b able to work dre

In my view, you will get better exposure in top medium firms rather than Big4s or GT. In big firms, your areas of training is limited, but in medium reputed firms you gets exposure in more areas. So, take your decision based on your requirement of training.
