Definitely working in Big4 firms adds big value to your resume and also you can gain experience in one/two specializations. If you are looking to settle in Job in future, then Big4 is good idea. If you want to go for own practice, then join a medium-size reputed firms. But usually Big4 firms prefer both groups completed students as a priority than who completed only one group. But before working in Big4, one should be well prepared to work under pressure/over timings.

Yes, if you join in Big4 firms, one needs to study from day one instead of reading only few months. Every day night if you can spend some time for reading, then no problem. However, in my view, Big4 audit firms gives leave for 2-3months for study/coaching.

If Big4 likes your resume and shortlists you, then they will give a call around 2-3 weeks. But usually big4's recruit trainees before the announcement of results itself. However, if you have references in big4, then there are chances to consider you.
