Can any one tell, what is the ARE ( Application for removal of excisable goods), and what are the advantages of ARE, is it Compulsary ??

Dear sir,
ARE - 1 to be followed by exporter of goods in case of export of excisable goods.
This is mandatory requirement which the exporter needs to be followed failing which panalty along with duty can be demanded by CE dept.
