I dont find some extra ordinary benefits in terms of work to be done by our side, but still it's more convenient than going to TIN centers. It's speedy too.

I am saying this coz i did applied for my PAN online!

online application reduce the chances of errors and rejection in PAN application, almost all checking is done online and submitted online, we have to send just "photo id proof + address proof" with acknowledgement printout after putting a photo and sign.

usually after receipt , in 7 days we get online PAN number related with application number, and in 2 weeks PAN cards delivered at home.

Physical submissions are subject to "accurate filing" and if not filled properly, then incorrect pan cards are issued and the assessee has to run piller to post to rectify, which ends with filing of rectification with loads of documents submission with fees again.  

after filiing the form. you have take print out of it. then paste photo and sign at specified place of the form, attached ID/address proof and submit at given address by post etc.
