Quick Summary
This discussion explores the common practice of brick sellers not registering for GST, even when sales exceed the standard ₹20 lakh threshold. It clarifies that GST registration is mandatory if turnover surpasses the applicable state threshold, which is ₹40 lakh in some areas. The standard GST rate for building bricks is also confirmed at 5%.

If state in which he has business has adopted threshold limit of 40L otherwise there is no exemption as per my knowledge.
If turnover exceeds 40 lakhs rupees then GST registration is required

The rate of GST on Building bricks fixed by GST council at the introduction of GST in July, 2017 is 5%
