Appeal before cestat- questions

i have an order that i want to file an appeal before cestat bench. I knew from memory that e-filing on cestat is enabled but i am not seeing online-filing option.

called the number on e-filing portal and they said e-filing is for department only and not for applicants.

I am now stuck, my client is not close to me so i will have to do lots of back and forth of documents for signatures.

Can anyone give me a draft format of the ST-5? (filed one preferably) (https://taxguru.in/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/FORM-NO-ST-5.doc) (this one i have)

and documents.

i assume payment has to be made by DD and not online?

Draft everything, send scanned copies for client’s signature, and courier the signed originals back.
Alternatively, if the client gives a Power of Attorney/Authorization Letter, you can sign and file on their behalf to avoid repeated document exchanges.

I can understand how frustrating this is, especially considering your client is not nearby. Unfortunately, filing for CESTAT appeals is still largely done offline, especially for applicants. You may have to arrange for couriers or assistance to help you manage this process well.
