If U r going for Self-study then go for singhania or girish ahuja sir book... Ajay jain Sir book is good 4 only revision purpose...

in jain's sir book u will not get analysis of various sections.so 4 self study u should go 4 singhania

For Income Tax- Ajay Jain sir is the best. This is my personal opinion, and even his book is the best !!

in examination u will have to write sections, clause and some times cases. if u are opting for self study then go for either Singhania/ ahuja sir's book. Also buy ajay jain sir module. Understand the concepts frm Singhania/ ahuja book and learn provisions frm ajay jain sir.s book. while reading first time u might have to devote more time due bur subsequent revison will become easier. make sure that any point explnation which is not given in ajay jain sir book write it on your own in AJ book. this will help u to remember technical points for a longer periods. if still any doubt u can msg me on 9810907360.

Ajay Jain is charging rs. 13,000.00 for his coachings which include book, and its not for book only (I mean that's obvious). So. first of all you should not compare it in that manner.

Now, if you want to go for self-study, then go for V.K. Singhania for first time studies and for pre exams prep. also, if you got time. For the fast prep. like 1 or 2 days before exams, go for KSP or AJ book.

That's what I do, as I had also opt for self-study and yes my Taxation exam was pretty nice :-).
