Whichever Laptop you buy......BUT DON'T GO FOR SECOND PRODUCT......IN FACT DON'T GO FOR ANY SECOND HAND ELECTRONIC PRODUCT/GADGET.

Dell Inspiron 1525 is good LAPTOP and i think it will full fill every thing u want .

                                   Configuration

  • Intel Core 2 Duo T5750 Dual Core Mobile Processor
  • 3GB PC2-5300 DDR2 Memory
  • 250GB 5400rpm SATA Hard Drive
  • 8x DVD+/-RW Dual Layer Burner
  • 15.4" WXGA (1280x800) Wide LCD Display with 2.0MP Webcam
  • Intel GMA X3100 Integrated Graphics
  • v.92 56Kbps Modem, 10/100 Ethernet, 802.11b/g Wireless
  • Four USB 2.0, FireWire, ExpressCard/54, 8-in-1 Card Reader
  • 14.1" x 10.1" x 1.5" @ 5.9 lbs.
  • Vista Business and Ultimate also Works .
  • --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  • If u want to install windows xp Pro but Service pack 2 must be necessary  then go the DELL web site , Select 1525 laptop model and download all the necessary drivers to run ur laptop hardware properly .
  • All the drivers are free of any charge .
  • I think the price of laptop between RS.33,000 to Rs.37,000 .
  • Battery backup of Dell laptop is good than other laptop available in market but not better than IBM .
  • IBM is a good laptop but the price is very high .
  • If u have any query then ask me . I will Try my best .

Acer can be a choice as laptops providing more features then dell in lesser rates For e.g. they provide DDR2 RAM & 320GB SATA Hard disk n it starts from  25000/-

i truly feel that u will have to do a market research for this........price comparison, features comparison.........compatibilty.......etc.....will be required ....so i think u need to see it for urself................nd second hand product is not an good option....bcos u will truly be putting in more money to get it repaired more often..............it will surely be not a wise option if u have a budget of Rs30000 ....u will get a new laptop in it.......and most of the good brands r made tally.....etc...... compatible........

Don't go for acer laptop bcz the life span of acer is very short . Specially in battery backup and more hard disk space is not required to run laptop properly but more ram must be necessary . Dell laptops are also available less than RS.25000 but the configuration is not good . Just go to 4 to 5  computer shop and compare acer with dell then u find which one is good . Just C my configuration list .

Looking at your budget, I guess Lenovo G Series is the best option. It provides all essential features without any excessive and unwanted capacities.

General config. will be as follows:

Windows 7 Home Basic (this version does not support Aero, but has all the basic and essential features)

2 GB DDR3 RAM, 500 GB HDD, Processor may vary (AMD Dual Core or Intel Core - say 3 or 5)

If you are heavy gamer then go for AMD as it will come with a dedicated graphics card. But for working any processor will do.

DVD-RW, 15.4" LED wide screen, 2mp webcam with built in mic. Also few extra features like Card reader, Wi-fi, BT, etc.

Dont go for Vista. it will not let you work properly. especially in ETDS and MCA related apps. Second hand is a big NO.

Dell has always been the best brand, but in your budget its little difficult to get the best. Acer doesnt really have a v good track record.

In my opinion go for Lenovo G565. Will cost around 29K.

You can get your laptop within your budget rs 30,000 if you choose Core 2 duo processor

If you choose Core i3 processor then it need approximately 35,000.

In all the companies laptop, all the feature is available right now you have to see only 3 features which is must.

1. Processor: CORE i3 if budget is 35000 otherwise Core 2 due

2. RAM: 3GB or 4GB

3. Hard: disk: 320GB

go for DELL it is cheaper than HP or SONY but best than other brand.

Buddy, I still remember what Ca Bhupati told during our passing out ceremony! The next best thing you can invest is on a laptop...

Since your use is limited to tally, excel and word any good branded laptop with the following configuration will help you

1. Processor - Core 2 Duo (i3/i5 is not necessary  as tally/ office will work superbly with core2Duo)

2. 2GB Ram - minimum (if you are taking 32 bit OS - no need to go for 4GB as 32 Bit uses only 3GB max - check before u buy).

3. Harddisk - 250GB plus - higher the better since you may have to store a lot of data.

4. 14inch plus screen - since tally and excel requires a larger screen - personally i am using a 13inch lap but sometimes feel like having a 15inch - esp while using excel.

5. webcam/mike/other accessories are part of any laptop deals now a days - they will give it free or lap will be having inbuilt cam and mike. try to get a bluetooth mouse - very handy and will free ur valuable USB port. Am using a logitech one - not sure whether available in India.

6. lenovo - I dont recommend. Sony - very costly for the product u r getting. Toshiba, Dell, Acer - good, price wise as well as product wise. My wife using Acer for the last 3 years - no problem.

7. Since the new office 2010/ 2007 works better in Vista/ 7 machines, I recommend windows 7! Else XP will do the trick for you - tally/ office will work in that.

8. Good antivirus - always buy antivirus software - do not use pirated one..

9. A good external hard disk - Westerndigital or toshiba or seagate or hitachi - 500GB plus. This is a must  and make sure to back up ur important files often. If your data is gone or laptop stolen... this will help u.

10. Unless u r not going for gaming and all... no need for dedicated ram. Bcoz, that will increase ur lap cost by 100$!

11. It is recommended not to use ur official/ office lap for personal, gaming and  downloading purpose.

Thats all... cheers...

I thank all of you for sharing your opinions & suggesting me which brand to go for.A day after posting this post I saw an ad of HCL ME laptops which has got great configuration within my budget. Moreover they claim to have a backup of 7 hours. Will it be wise to go for it?

PlZ  tell me the configuration list then i can able to tell u HCL ME is a good laptop or not . 7 hours battery backup is good feature but ask after one year what is the expected backup hours of battery . All other features must be taken into consideration while choosing a laptop . Just check  hard disk , RAM  , Processor company and L1 & L2  Memory and processor Spped in MHZ etc..... etc..

I would like to suggest that you should go for DELL Inspiron 3558

DELL Inspiron 3558 has 5th generation Intel core i3 processor and 2GHz processor speed. The laptop is equipped with 4GB DDR3L RAM (Random Access Memory) and 1TB of storage. The laptop has 15.6 inches screen size with 1366*768 display resolution. The laptop comes with Intel HD Graphics 5500.
