i passed foundation easily. and i studied my pcc almost well. but i still dont have a conceptual understanding in basic accounts.

before i step into ca finals, i want to have a proper conceptual understaning of accounts. please tell me how to do it.

dont tell me to go for +2 accounts book. i have read many and most of them have only sums and problems. i desperately need a book that can deeply explain the accounting methods and concepts.

u can go through book written by Hanif and Mukherjee( tata magrew hills). This is standard book u will get benefit from that

I think if u reed the AS thouroughly then it will better to u

Also explore some CA books at the link below:

www.cabooksonline.com

You Can Refer book of P C Tulsian it is a good book for having conceptual celerity.

Well, I used to think the same when I cleared PCC November 2008. I even got a friends notes because all I did for PCC was accounts PE 2 compilation..... Thats it.... Accounts was supposed to be my weakest subject...... But trust me, before going for any book just register for Final ca and have a look at the syllabus of Accounts..... It is not at all like what you have done earlier..... Those T form accounts, branch, idiotic formats, etc are all passe...... Accounts in CA Final places a lot of stress on valuation & Accounting standards..... So, Dont worry and waste your time on getting through.... You just need to have good amount of logic for Final......

well, i have also struggled like u in conceptual clarity. This thing i got it write off by referring P C Tulsian Book. if u r nt aware of basics get hold of 11th class PC tulsian book. its good to read that. Even nw i m using PC tulsian Book fr IPCC. Its nt late, get hold of 11th class book by PC tulsian. There will arise some doubts in ur mind which r good signs of learning. Get it clarified by reading that book. Its nt late nw. Learn nw with conceptual clarity. TO tell u,  Tdy i hv lent my 12th class book of pc tulsian to my friend so that he gets a good hold on company a/cs.

hi gajal ,,,,

journal entries are the roots of accountancy if our concept of journal entries is good we can be able to learn  all other techniques of accounts thats y 11th n 12th standard in commerce field is vital. we learn the basic accounting concept is these classs only. so I would suggest you to improve ur journal entries concept wether by books of 11,12th standard or by other books.

One more advice................yahan jitne reply honge utne hi books ke name honge.......................write down all the name of books and go to library and choose which suits you.................

Whichever book you refer its ur choice. But I'll advice to have a thorough reading of accounting concepts and conventions. This will make ur basic concepts clear. After that go for Accounting Standards which are most important from finals point of view....

Good luck....

for PCC ,haniff & mukherjee's bookis best to build your concept, that i feel as i have also studied from it turst me..

i think pc tulsian is d best book to clear ur concept........

Refer Reddy and Murthi........

Follow the below mentioned link..... Here u will find small clips on various basic concepts by Susan crosson.... Am from commerce background and in CA Final. I found it useful particularly for beginners and non commerce students.... Hope it works for you as its more easy to grasp concept while hearing it first and then reading it from various sources which others have mentioned...
