Advanced itt course for ca final students(old course)

Thank you for answering my question. I requested the local branch office of ICAI in my city to make a phone call to Board of Studies on my behalf and ask them the same question and they said, "You have to do the course". I was wondering if you are also a similar student because I genuinely believe it is not applicable to students of old course. Had I given my Final exams earlier, I would only have to do GMCS. There was no course like Advanced ITT back then. Just because I delayed my attempt doesn't mean I have to pursue any new courses added by the Institute since these new courses are for students who joined articleship on or after 2013. If you know someone who is also an old student like me and has got their degree without pursuing the Advanced ITT, please let me know.

as per notification issue by Council those who are registered for Articleship on or after 1st Feb 2013 are required to under go such training.


Sub: Relaxation in the requirement of completing Advanced Course on Information Technology Training

For admission to the Final Examination, one of the requirements under Regulation 29C of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988, for students registered for practical training on or after 1st February, 2013 is to complete the Advanced Course on Information Technology Training. It was brought to the notice of the Council that a number of students who are otherwise eligible for appearing in the Final Examination effective from November, 2015, are not able to complete the said Course because of certain reasons beyond their control. In order to remove the hardship faced by such students, the Council of the Institute by virtue of powers vested in it under Regulation 205 of the Chartered Accountantsn Regulations, 1988 has relaxed the said requirement by permitting such students to complete the said Course even after appearing in the Final Examination but before enrolling as a member of the Institute.

I have passed CA final exam in 2011 but not do GMCS.

 

If you are writing exam under old course you have to complete it after writing exam but before membership subject to date of articleship. But if you are under new course you have to complete before writing exam. I completed my intermediate in 2002 and took up first group of final and cleared in May 2017 under old syllabus. Am giving my second group in May 2018 under new syllabus. I had to complete advanced MCS and ITT along with test as per recent notification by ICAI. Hope you are clear.
