Advance service tax payment

We have paid service tax on service bill issued but afterwards the bill was reversed and as service tax was already paid we want to claim it as advance in return but the problem is that we have not informed to jurisdictional superintendent of service tax within 15 days of payment can we claim it as advance?

Dear Akhil,

I guess only if you pay service tax with the intention of paying as advance tax, then only you need to intimate the officer.  But in your case, you can adjust the excess amount in the next return under rule 6 (3) under row no 4A in the return. You are advised to take others view also before filing the return.
