Here is the position:

1. Old Course Requirements: Under the old CA course (pre-2020 restructuring), GMCS-I, GMCS-II, and ITT (Information Technology Training) were required. There was NO Advance IT (AICITSS) requirement under the old course.

2. New Course Requirements: Under the new syllabus (post Board of Studies restructuring), AICITSS (Advanced Integrated Course on Information Technology and Soft Skills) is mandatory — it has two components: Advance IT and MCS (Management and Communication Skills).

3. If You Convert to New Course: Yes, you will need to complete AICITSS (both Advance IT and MCS components) before appearing for CA Final exams under the new syllabus.

4. Practical Advice: If you are considering conversion, check the conversion requirements on the ICAI SSP portal, verify your exam and training status, and complete AICITSS early so it doesn't delay your final exam eligibility. AICITSS must be completed before the last date of practical training or before appearing in the final exam — whichever is applicable as per latest ICAI guidelines.

5. Check ICAI's latest notifications since guidelines for old-to-new conversion are updated periodically — verify current requirements at icai.org.
