Adjustment u/s 143 (1)(a)

Hi,

I received adjustment notification from income tax department under 143 (1)(a). This was because there is variance in salary income in Returns and Form 26AS. While filing my returns last year I deducted amount exempted under HRA and professional tax from Gross salary. This amount was specified as gross salary in the returns. In Form 26AS, Gross salary is inclusive of this amount and hence the variance. My question to you all is, in my response should I agree and file revised return or disagree and just provide the reason for difference in my response.

Disagree, and provide the details about deduction........  You may have to upload copy of rental document/receipt/bank statement......
