In case of purchase of new Plant and Machinery ,addition depreciation is allowed to a manufacturing concern .My query is whether an activity of constructing buildings is covered by definition of manufacturing activity i.e. whether a builder will be considered as a manufacturer for claiming additional depreciation ? Please mention the section/ definition /ruling with your answer which helped you to answer my query.

No, only manufacturer of article or thing is allowed additional depreciation. Section 32(1)(iia)
