Any student who passed 12th can apply for actuary course.
However, the duration depends on your preparation. Ideally, it takes around 2-3 years if you clear all papers in first attempt. But, that is not the case for most students. If you have sound knowledge in Maths / stats or if you are very much interested in matchs / stats, you can very well choose it. If you are willing to do the hardwork, this is a good combination with CA.
I would strictly suggest you not to do both CA and Actuary simultaneously. First complete your CA, if you already started and then, later you can do actuary.
I recently thought of applying for ACET (Actuary entrance) and even prepared. But, some how i did not want to deviate from CA core subjects Finance / Tax.
Saying that, it depends on individual choices. As i said, if you are interested in Maths, this is a good choice.
