your ITR would be considered as defective

if u already have a pan and u hv or are eligible to obtain adhaar no on july 1, it is compulsory to link the two failing which pan will be deemed to be invalid from a date notified by the CG.
if however you don't have an adhaar and don't want to obtain it then, the Supreme Court has granted a partial stay so that the pan will not be cancelled for the time being.
