I am trying to file my returns and provided the amount towards 8CCD(2) for NPS deductions, however the same does not reflect in the system calculated section of new ITR-1 form and I am unable to claim the deduction. Kindly suggest how to proceed.

For additional deductions for NPS investment, sec. 80CCD (1B) is applicable.

Goto Part A of the form "General information"
scroll down to the last. there is an option which says "Nature of employment"
Select that and ur deductions will show up under system calculated column.

Hi Everyone,
I have doubt with 80ccd(2) of income tax act,
Is that applicable for a state/central govt employee where 10% of basic salary+DA of employee invested in NPS and govt contributes 14% of it. But while calculating Income tax we r not include employer contribution of 14% in our gross salary. Can we claim 80ccd(2) here or not, please clarify

80CCD(2) is what your employer is deducting and contributing to the NPS
80CCD(1B) is what you are saving limited to 50000 per FY
Select your employers nature as "central / state / PSU / Others
Also select salary as Basic .. else 80CCD(2) will not reflect as saving in SecVI-A Part B
