26as download due to large size

 If you have not yet registered on TRACES, please register by clicking on 'Register as New User' on TRACES home page and selecting type of user as 'Tax Payer' 

Then submit download request for Form 26AS which would be made available to you in text format.

I am Already a registered taxpayer..can u please tell me how to make download request after logging into traces

Login TRACES as taxpayer

Under 'Request for Resolution' Tab; select : Unable to View Form 26AS option, select ass year. & GO.

Under 'request for resolution' Unable to View Form 26AS option is not coming, its shows form 26AS, under this asking for FY, quarter, form type, Pan no, but not showing option 'Unable to view Form 26AS'.
 

Seems it might have changed, to Form 26AS.........

Fill it and check if the required form gets downloaded

You must have logged in as a deductor, try to register yourself as a tax payer & try requesting !

I am trying to raise the request for downloading large size 26as through traces, but unable to get the file. Kindly guide on step by step process to successfully download the file.

Important information on 26AS Download

 •Tax Payer can view/download 26AS from TRACES from A.Y 2009-10 onwards

•26 AS is available to view Online in HTML Format.

• 26AS is available for download in two formats:

a) PDF

b) Text

• 26AS can also be viewed by logging in other related sites which redirects Taxpayer to TRACES: -

• www.incometaxindiaefling.gov.in

• Relevant Bank Account Internet facility: In this case Taxpayer need not to register on TRACES

• NOTE:-Password to open for Form 26AS in PDF/Text Format is “ Date of Birth of Taxpayer“ in DDMMYYYY format.

• Where transactions are 2000 or more than 26AS would be available only in text file. Deductee has to place the download request and need to convert it into excel

Brief Steps : Download 26AS and Converting it to Excel

  Login to TRACES,

 Taxpayer needs to open text file by giving password as “ Date of Birth of Deductee” in DDMMYYYY format

 Zip file will be downloaded

 Extract the Text file

 Select the complete text and Copy the data to MS Excel Worksheet

 Select the entire first column “A” in the worksheet

 Click on Data written in the header of MS Excel Worksheet

 Select option Text to columns a small window will pop up

 Select “Delimited” and click on next

 Then select “Others” and Place “^” in the box and click on next

 Click on “Finish” and data will get converted to Excel format

Note: - Steps for conversion of text file into excel can be different for different version of excel and operating system.

when extracting the text file asking for pass word. where the assessee is registered in traces as tay payer and not as deductor  - we are not able to open the text file to follow further steps of converting into excel sheet.

I have downloaded zip file for Form 26AS from TRACES site. I have converted it using excel text to column and got the details but when I submitted to tax authority taking a print of the Excel file the same was not accepted to be genuine and the officer wants me to submit print copy as is available when downloaded form ITD site. Please guide how to print Form 26AS?  Thanks
