On 12th September 2019, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman rolled out the E-assessment Scheme 2019, which will become mandatorily applicable from 31st March 2020.
Under the scheme, a centralized authority called NEAC will issue all the anonymous assessments. There shall be complete confidentiality, none of the parties viz. IT Dept., Assessee or the NEAC will have any information about the computer-generated notices.
