The Office of Central India Regional Council (CIRC) is situated at Kanpur having 36 Branches at Agra, Ajmer, Allahabad, Alwar, Bareilly, Beawar, Bhilai, Bhilwara, Bhopal, Bilaspur, Dehradun, Dhanbad, Ghaziabad, Gorakhpur, Gwalior, Indore, Jabalpur, Jaipur, Jamshedpur, Jodhpur, Kota, Lucknow, Mathura, Meerut, Moradabad, Muzaffarnagar, Noida, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Saharanpur, Udaipur, Ujjain, Varanasi, CPE Chapters at Banswara Bhagalpur, Bhiwadi, Bundelkhand, Chittorgarh, Pali Marwar, Ratlam, Satna, Sri Ganganagar, Shekhawati and CPE study groups to discharge the functioning of the Regional Council. Central Region of the Institute consist of seven states viz. UP, Uttaranchal, MP, Chattishgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand & Rajasthan. Currently over 1,00,000 students are pursuing the Chartered Accountancy Course and the total number of Members of the Central Region is more than 18000.

The area covered by the CIRC is very large and number of students and members from the area are growing day by day. Now CA Kemisha Soni , the first lady Chairperson of the region have taken the charge of the region , let us have a talk with the new chairperson of the region on her plans, student problems, the experience of election, etc.

Our star performer, versatile writer and Tax columnist CA SUDHIR HALAKHANDI is in a interview asked her about her plans as chairperson, the student’s problem , the profession in the region so on and so forth ….

CA SUDHIR HALAKHNDI:-

Madam, many congratulations for being elected as the first lady chairperson, from we all the members of the CAclubindia. So how do you feel as the chief of the Regional council having 7 states , 18000 members and 1 Lakh students?

CA KEMISHA SONI

Thanks Mr. Sudhir! My feelings are mixed. I know it is the happiest moment for my professional carrier and life, but I know the responsibility is very big. I will try my best to serve the cause of the students and members and also the profession.!

CA SUDHIR HALAKHNDI:--

Chairperson Madam! The region has only 18000 members but this is not the true picture because the registration of members in the region is not too large, but this region has produced more chartered accountants and most of them are working outside the region and this highlights the problem of employment in the region. Do you think that this is a big problem?

CA KEMISHA SONI:-

Yes you are right, Mr. Sudhir but I think we should be proud of the fact that large number of members from our region are working in other regions. I also agree with you that the same is also the result of scarcity of employment in our region. During my tenure as the chairperson of this region, I shall try to solve this problem by meeting various authorities and Government of all the seven states. This shall not only ensure employment opportunities in the region but also ensure economic development of this region. Our region is rich in natural resources, but the Industrial development has not taken pace. This problem has many dimensions to it. Even the Government audit work is not very large in this area. Combined efforts of we all and coordination with various agencies are required towards the solution of this problem.
I will try my best to highlight these problems and attain achievements with this respect.

CA SUDHIR HALAKHNDI:-

The students are big assets for the future of this noble profession. How will you make the CIRC services better for the students?

CA KEMISHA SONI:-

Yes, we will improve the services at CIRC with respect to response to the student problems. As declared in my election manifesto, there shall be a special cell for students to deal with problems, complaints and suggestions within three working days with the highest standards of efficiency.

CA SUDHIR HALAKHNDI:--

And what about classes for students at all the branches?

CA KEMISHA SONI:-

Yes this is also on my agenda and we the CIRC team shall be dealing with it on priority.

CA SUDHIR HALAKHNDI:-

We see that only certain branches are eligible for accepting the Registration forms. The students from the remote areas are demanding since a long time that this facility of accepting the registration forms and distribution of study material should be started at all the branches.

CA KEMISHA SONI:-

Yes this needs to be taken care of immediately. Thanks Mr. Sudhir for bringing this to my knowledge. I shall immediately focus on this problem as to how the same can be done.

CA KEMISHA SONI:-

" Congrats Madam, Our CIRC is based in UP but as far as UP is concerned quality of support for CA students as well as members in this region is not satisfactory and we have to relocate to other regions. No doubt CIRC covered states are rich in knowledge but due to lack of proper guidance and support they are not able to give the performance which they can. It's the right time to take necessary steps in coordination with State Govt,s. We hope you will do something for which the region will remember you. "
