Penalty for obstructing Inspector.22. Whoever fails to produce on demand by the Inspector any register or document in his custody kept in pursuance of this Act or the rules made thereunder or conceals or prevents any person from appearing before or being examined by an Inspector shall be punishable with imprisonment [which may extent to one year, or with fine which may extend to five thousand rupees], or with both.
22. Substituted for "which may extend to three months, or with fine which may extend to five hundred rupees" by the Maternity Benefit (Amendment) Act, 1988, w.e.f. 10-1-1989.
