THE FIRST SCHEDULE

(See section 30)

AMENDMENTS TO THE INSURANCE ACT, 1938

(4 of 1938)

1. In the Act, except in clause (5B) of section 2 and section 2B, for -Control- ler-wherever it occurs, substitute -Authority- and such consequential changes as the rules of grammar may require shall also be made.

2. In sections 27, 27A, 27B, 31, 32A, 40A, 48B, 64F, 64G, 64-I, 64J, 64L, 64R, 64UC, 64UM, 113 and 115, for -Central Government- wherever they occur, substitute -Authority-.

3. Section 2,-

(a)-after clause (1), insert the following:-
--(1A) -Authority- means the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority established under sub-section (1) of section 3 of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority Act, 1999;-;
(b)-for clause (5B), substitute the following:-
