1. Omitted by the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Act, 2023, w.e.f. a date yet to be notified. Prior to its omission, section 29A as inserted by the Industries (Development and Regulation) Amendment Act, 1953, w.e.f. 1-10-1953, read was under:"29A. Special provision regarding fines.-Notwithstanding anything contained in section 32 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898 (5 of 1898), it shall be lawful for any magistrate of the first class and for any presidency magistrate to pass a sentence or fine exceeding one thousand rupees on any person convicted of any offence under this Act."
