1. Omitted by the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Act, 2023, w.e.f. a date yet to be notified. Prior to its omission, section 27 as amended by the Industries (Development and Regulation) Amendment Act, 1953, w.e.f. 1-10-1953, read was under:"27. Cognizance of offences.-No Court shall take cognizance of any offence punishable under this Act except on a report in writing of the facts constituting such offence made by a person who is a public servant as defined in section 21 of the Indian Penal Code (45 of 1860)."
