Section - 20 - Power of Central Government to give directions
[Power of Central Government to give directions.20. The Central Government may, from time to time, give such directions to the Central Board as it may think fit for the efficient administration of this Act and when any such direction is given, the Central Board shall comply with such direction.
92. New sections 20 to 22 substituted for existing section 19A by the Employees’ Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions (Amendment) Act, 1988, w.e.f. 1-7-1997. Earlier existing section 19A, as inserted by the Employees’ Provident Funds (Amendment) Act, 1953, was amended by the Employees’ Provident Funds (Amendment) Act, 1956 and Employees’ Provident Funds (Amendment) Act, 1960, w.e.f. 31-12-1960. Further, existing section 20 was omitted by the Repealing and Amending Act, 1957.
