COMPANY SECRETARIES ACT, 1980[56 OF 1980][AS AMENDED BY COMPANY SECRETARIES (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2011]An Act to make provision for the regulation and development of the profession of Company Secretaries.BE it enacted by Parliament in the Thirty-first year of the Republic of India as follows :-
CHAPTER I
PRELIMINARYShort title, extent and commencement.
1. (1) This Act may be called the Company Secretaries Act, 1980.
(2) It extends to the whole of India.
(3) It shall come into force on such date as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.
