Self Employment Scheme for Rehabilitation of Manual Scavengers. (SRMS) beyond 30 September 2009
Please refer to our Circular RPCD.SP.BC.No 117/09.03.01/2008-09 dated June 30, 2009 advising the banks to complete implementation of the Self Employment Scheme for Rehabilitation of Manual Scavengers (SRMS) by September 30, 2009. The implementing agencies have been requested to complete implementation of the scheme by September 30, 2009.
Since a substantial amount of work is still left to be done for rehabilitation of identified manual scavengers under SRMS, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment has advised to disburse loan to all applicants, preferably by December 31, 2009 with the last quarter of the financial year 2009-10 being left for any inevitable spillover.
You are, therefore advised to ensure the completion of implementation of the SRMS Scheme up to December 31, 2009 and the spillover in inevitable cases up to the March 31, 2010 in a time bound manner as per the existing guidelines issued by us in this regard.
