FAQ :
The notification aims to further amend Notification No. 69/2011-Customs to deepen the tariff concessions under the India-Japan Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA).
It introduces changes by substituting a new table into the original notification, which details updated tariff rates for various goods.
This notification was issued on the 25th of March, 2020.
The notification amends the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) notification No. 69/2011-Customs, dated the 29th July, 2011.
The amendments are made in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962, and are deemed necessary in the public interest.
