FAQ :

The notification seeks to amend Customs Notification No. 24/2005-Customs to exclude copper and articles thereof from the exemption provided to raw materials.

The notification being amended is the Government of India, Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) Notification No. 24/2005-Customs, dated the 1st March, 2005.

Copper and articles made from copper will now be excluded from the exemption previously granted to raw materials under the said notification.

The amendment is made by substituting the entry in column (2) of the Table, against S. No. 39, to read as 'Any Chapter except Chapter 74'.

The principal notification No. 24/2005-Customs was issued on the 1st March, 2005.
