In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 8 read with sub-section (1) of section 10 of the Competition Act, 2002 (12 of 2003), the Central Government hereby appoints Shri Ratneshwar Prasad as Member of the Competition Commission of India with effect from 1st March, 2009 for a period of five years or till he attains the age of 65 years or until further orders, whichever is the earliest.
