The Investor Charter is designed to increase investor awareness about the services provided by Debenture Trustees (DTs), including timelines for services, investor rights and obligations, and the grievance redressal process.
Debenture Trustees must disclose their Investor Charter and also publish data on complaints received against them or concerning non-convertible debt securities they handle, along with the resolution status.
These provisions, including the publication of the Investor Charter and the disclosure of complaint data, come into effect from January 1, 2022.
Debenture Trustees must disclose complaint data on their websites by the 7th of the succeeding month.
Investors can find the Investor Charter and the complaint disclosure data on the respective websites of the registered Debenture Trustees.
The general timeline for the redressal of investor grievances by a Debenture Trustee is 30 days.
