A Special Court is designated to ensure the speedy trial of offences under the Companies Act, 2013.

The Court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Kamrup (M) at Guwahati has been designated as a Special Court for the state of Assam.

The designation was made in exercise of the powers conferred by section 435 of the Companies Act, 2013.

The Chief Justice of the High Court of Gauhati gave their concurrence for this designation.

The Special Court will handle offences under clause (b) of sub-section (2) of section 435 of the Companies Act, 2013.
