The instruction aims to expedite customs clearances for COVID-related imports made by the Indian Red Cross Society.
This instruction covers COVID-related imports, including medical grade oxygen, equipment for oxygen production and distribution, oxygen therapy equipment, COVID-19 vaccines, and donations of COVID-related materials and medicines.
Permissions, licences, or authorisations required from other Government Departments/Agencies prior to clearance are now deemed to have been given for these specific imports.
No, these cases do not need to be referred to other agencies, or the requirement may be suitably waived.
The decision was made in a meeting chaired by the Cabinet Secretary on 27.4.2021.
Customs formations are requested to give the highest priority to these consignments and facilitate their clearance in the shortest possible time.
