The ideal candidate should either be CA Final or CS Final or an MBA (Finance). He/she should be well versed in accounting, finance, tax laws, audit and should be computer savvy. The candidate must have good written and oral communication skills.
RtR is an international educational non-government organisation having presence in 10 countries across the globe. RtR's annual budget is USD $30 Million. In India, it works in seven States and its Head Office is in New Delhi.
Position Overview:
The Accounts Officer position will assist and report to the Finance Director. Primary responsibilities include assisting in maintaining all aspects of the organization’s finances and accounts. The position will have regular interactions with all staff. This position also requires some amount of travel to state offices to review financial records and documents. This position is based in New Delhi, Country Office and will have to manage of team of 2 to 3 Associates.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
• Work with the Finance Manager to implement and analyze financial budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with programmatic strategies and headquarter requirements
• Manage cash-flow and forecasting. Prepare quarterly and annual analysis of expenditure and monitor trend.
• Coordinate with the Administration unit for the day to day issues and implementation issues related to strengthening of internal controls.
• Review the monthly reports and suggest improvements on management accounts and MIS Reports.
• Assist to set up and maintain adequate in-country financial reporting in accordance with government regulations for FCRA and Income Tax rules.
• Monitoring State Office’s books of account and review of monthly financial reports.
• Monitoring of INCO’s financial transaction data accuracy at Epicor and generate the monthly reports as per the requirement of Room to Read US.
• Issue staff and program related reimbursements in a timely manner and in accordance with guidelines set by headquarters and Room to Read India Trust.
• Monitoring of TDS calculation, remittance and quarterly return.
• Follow up with the bank on any matters pertaining to the different bank accounts.
• Oversee audit and other statutory compliance activities and requirements. Coordinate with the statutory auditors for annual statutory auditing and reporting to concerned authorities within the prescribed time limit.
• To attend before Income Tax Officer as and when necessary on Room to Read India Trust’s on tax return and income tax return scrutiny purpose.
• Supervision of the Finance Associates and guide & help them in their day-to-day work.
Qualifications and Experience:
• CA Final or CS Final or Master degree in Commerce or related field (accounting, management, etc.)
• A minimum of five years of experience in NGO Accounting field.
• Adept at using Microsoft Office applications – word, excel and other accounting software
• Working experience in Tally 9.
• Prior experience in a fast-paced, growth-oriented organization.
• Verbal and written communication skills in English and Hindi.
