Xbrl filing

Dear friends,

On 5th Oct 2011 MCA released Companies (Filing of documents and forms in Extensible Business Reporting Language) Rules, 2011. In that notification they have mentioned as per sec 220 of the Companies Act 1956 certain class companies have to file their balance sheet and P & L Account in XBRL format. As per Section 220 time limit is 30 days from the date of AGM. In the earlier notification they have mentioned the time limit for filing xbrl balance sheet. ie within 60 days of due date or 30.11.2011 which ever is later. But in the recent notification they didn't mention about the time limit.  My question is whether we have to pay additional fee, if it exceeds 30 days as per section 220?

Thanks in advance

Kavitha

Hi Kavitha,

As per recent notification, the companies are not required to pay additional fees for filing financial statements in XBRL format, if the financial statements in XBRL format are filed on or before Nov 30, 2011 or 60 days of due date, which ever is later.

Regards
