We are an I.T. Company registered with the STPI. We wish to purchase Laptop Batteries from an Indian Company that is a manufacturer of Laptops and is a wholly owned Indian subsidiary of a US Laptop manufacturer. Are Basic Customs Duty/CV Duty and SA Duty applicable on such purchase or only CST/VAT is applcable??? The Manufacturer is giving quotations having different types and rates of duties (BCD/CVD). Can any one pls. help me in this situation? Its very Urgent.

ALL THE DUTY IS EXEMPTED , YOU ARE A STPI UNIT, PLEASE SSS CHAPTER 6 OF FOREIGN TRADE POLICY 2009-2014 AND ALSO HAND BOOK OF PROCEDURES VOL-1 (2009-2014) IF YOU WERE A GENERAL THEN YOU CAN COMPEL THE DUTY TO GOVERNMENT OF INDIA.
