A company running hotel in Pune and Hyderabad

Does every state require a separate VAT registration - ie AP and Maharashtra

Yes it does. VAT:- is a state tax not a central tax hence every state has their own individual authority.

Yes, every state contains its seperate VAT collection dept. as its mere a state tax rather than a central tax

Yes. as it is State Govt Rule and Comes under the State Sales tax Act, not comes under the central govt. As every state has its own rules,act & procedure so every a company required a seprate registration for every rseprate office. there fore a company required a seprate registration

Yes In Every State you have to take saperate Registration under Respective State level Vat Act
