in simple words,

1) In prototype approach, pilot projects i.e. "Prototypes like "BETA" versions" are prepared, and users are allowed to use them. On the basis of user feedback, the short-comings are removed. This process continues till the users are substantially satisfied. Hence, There is minimal planing involved. As the project progresses, the project develops.

2) in Incremental approach, there is combination of Traditional and Prototype approach. Initial planning is made as per the traditional approach to divide the project into various modules. Each module is then designed as a prototype and "Prototype Technique" is applied for preparing and designing the modules.

3) For Incremental Approach, refer the Insitute Material for the Specific "Spiral Diagram". This approach is used when the project is too complex, and requires the combination of Traditional, Prototype as well as Incremental Approach.

that helped a lot... prob is that most of us CA students are quite a blank when it comes to practical exposure in information systems... this makes it all the more difficult to study...

Mr. S has given me a lot of insight...

Now that you know the background, it will be easier to understand the concepts from the module
