Urgent help - articleship

Articleship 2667 views 5 replies
Hi,

The last date for registering for articleship is 31 October to be eligible for May 2016 exams right? What is the exact procedure for registering? I mean once I get selected in a firm (which I will within a week) and get the articleship deed prepared by the principle (Form 102 I think), does the date commence (for cutoff of 31st Oct) from then or from the day we submit the form 102/103 to the Institute or the day when we get an acknowledgement/I-Card from the institute? Please guide me as 31st October is nearing and I'm really worried.

Thanks and regards

The date mentioned in the deed of articles(ie. stamp paper worth Rs.50) is the date of registration for articleship . It is this date which is supposed to be before 31st October. within 30 days from the date of registration of articles you are supposed to submit forms 102 and 103 to the institute.

Agree with above reply,

However, in case of Deed buy a Rs.100 stamp paper...

Stepwise Registration Procedure is as follows

1. Purchase the Articleship Registration Form 103&102 from the respective  Branch offices near to you

Note: Online Download is not valid for registration the form has to be purchased by paying Rs.50/-

2.Fill in the form and submit one copy of the form 103  along with the prescribed registration fee and supporting documents

3. Prescribed fee for registration of Articleship is Rs.2000 one time fee

4.Supporting Documents to be submitted duly attested by a chartered accountant (Prinicipal)

  • IPCC Passed Certificate ( Group I or both groups )
  • ITT Certificate (not applicable in case of Direct Entry Scheme)
  • Orientation Certificate (not applicable in case of Direct Entry Scheme)

5. The other two copies of the form 103 are to be kept with the Prinicipal and the student

6. The copies of the form 102 has to be kept one with the prinicipal and other with the student

Note : Form 102 is not to be sent to ICAI

7. The Identity card supplied is to be filled in and attested by your principal along with the photograph has to be sent to ICAI along with the Form 103

regards,

There are two 102 Forms in the bundle. One is on a green paper and the other on white. Am I suppose to get the green form 102 franked or can I have it typed on a stamp paper (NJS Rs. 100)? I'm confused as many say franking is a must while others say stamp paper will suffice.

Lastly, is it a normal practice for students to backdate their form 103? What benefit does it serve? I believe ICAI asks for the stipend details & deed copy to verify the dates if the submission is delayed beyond 30 days, so would like to know if it is possible to get backdated Stamp Papers. I am asking this just for the sake of information.

Thanks
