Every person responsible for deduction of tax under Chapter XVII-B shall deliver, or
cause to be delivered, the following quarterly statements to the DGIT (Systems) or any person
authorized by him, in accordance with section 200(3):
(i) Statement of TDS under section 192 in Form No.24Q;
(ii) Statement of TDS under sections 193 to 196D in Form No.26Q in respect of all deductees
other than a deductee being a non-resident not being a company or a foreign company or
resident but not ordinarily resident in which case the relevant form would be Form No.27Q.

My employer deducted TDS from my salary but not submitted the TDS details as per above requirement.

Becuase of this I received demand notices for payment of tax along with penalty and interest.

My employer is a governement deductor.

You may approach your AO and show the salary slip wherein your employer has deducted TDS from your salary but has failed to deposit in time, which is why you have not received the tax credit in 26AS. You may also be required to prove that you were made aware of this situation only when you received the demand notice.
