This usually happens due to a processing delay between the bank and the TDS-CPC system. If you’ve paid through Net Banking and received a valid challan counterfoil (with CIN), there’s no need to worry.
It generally takes 4 to 7 working days for the payment status to reflect correctly on the TRACES portal. If it still shows as “pending” after a week, you may:
-
Check with your bank to confirm successful payment and challan status.
-
Verify the PAN, Assessment Year, and other details entered in 26QB.
-
Raise a request through the TRACES Helpdesk or Income Tax e-filing portal.
Once the payment is processed, you can proceed to request Form 16B.
For future convenience, if you're also dealing with Form 15CA/15CB, you can use our Excel-based utility for bulk XML generation and easy filing.
