I have an account with a share broker firm in Mumbai, I have shifted to Mangalore, Karnataka and I want to open an account here. Can I transfer the shares held, to my new account. Do I have to inform the previous broker or can I transfer it directly. What is the proceedure.

first of all please specify what kind of account u r talking about.....a trading account or a demate a/c.....

its a trading account, the DP is CDSL. If I open an account with another broker do I have to open a seperate demat account, since I already have one.

if ur shares are in the pool a/c of the broker and u want them to be transferred in ur demate a/c than u can ask ur broker to transfer ur shares in the new demate a/c by giving details of new demate a/c.
